Floral Arrangements

Deciding whether or not to do your own floral arrangements depends greatly on how hands-on you want to be for with your wedding and/or where you feel you want to make cuts in your wedding budget.  The common figure out there is 8-10% of your wedding budget should be reserved for flowers, but if you’re not careful, the price can run up quickly.  There are positives and negatives to attempting flowers on your own.  The big positive would be saving money.  But money saved is hardly worth it unless you or someone close to you actually knows how to arrange flower and create centerpieces.  You wouldn’t want someone hacking away at the flowers you have purchased! Another consideration would be time.  Time spent cutting, trimming and arranging, or time spent calling and making sure your cousins aunt who “volunteered” has actually done what was promised to you.  And since fresh flower arrangements need to be prepared close to the wedding day to reduce the risk of drooping and wilting, that also adds another stress during an already stressful week.  I’m not saying that hiring a florist will make all the stress go away, but there is peace of mind when dealing with a professional.  Such as, the assurance that your arrangements will be done, and will look beautiful!

If you decide that you want to delegate the responsibility of flowers to a professional, here are some florist that have worked with us on wedding receptions and ceremonies in the past:
